Job Duties

***RFI Response*** The worker coordinates communication with housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, and management departments. The worker relays guest requests and reports to those departments by telephone, radio, or the property management system from the front desk station, including passing room status, early arrival, and late checkout information to housekeeping, logging guest maintenance requests for the maintenance department, passing dining and amenity requests to food and beverage, and confirming the result back to the guest. Inspection of clean rooms in preparation for guest arrival consists of checking the status of each arriving guest's and confirming that the room has been released as ready in the system. If a room is not clean, the worker notifies the housekeeping supervisor, holds the room out of inventory, and either assigns the guest another ready room or advises the guest of the delay. Coordination of hotel services is performed at the front desk by taking guest requests for hotel services, reserves and issues items and equipment kept at the front desk, records usage, return times, and any loss or damage in the property management system, and reports damage to management. The worker does not deliver, set up, or retrieve items elsewhere on the property. The public guest areas in which the worker assists with basic cleanup are the front desk counter and the lobby. The worker wipes the counter and lobby tables between guests, straightens lobby seating, brochures, and displays, and picks up items left behind by guests and logs them as lost and found. ***Original F.a.2*** Greet, register, assign rooms, and issue room keys to incoming guests during check-in process. Assist with transporting luggage to guest rooms. Manage guest bookings and make, cancel, and change reservations. Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining, or entertainment. Arrange taxis or restaurant reservations for customers. Coordinate communication between the front desk and other departments to fulfill guest needs. Inspect clean rooms in preparation for guest arrival. Coordinate hotel services such as bicycle rentals and beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas; monitor and record guest usage, returns, and lost or damaged items. Assist with basic cleanup of public guest areas, such as cleaning surfaces and picking up guest belongings or other items as needed. Use computer software to manage internal tasks and guest communications.
