Working a season in Colorado

Colorado is the densest cluster of ski-town seasonal employment in the U.S. Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Crested Butte, Steamboat Springs, and Telluride all run November through April with thousands of lift, ski school, F&B, and lodging positions. Many of those same towns flip into summer mode for hiking, biking, and festivals, so doubling up is realistic if housing holds.

Estes Park and Grand Lake bracket Rocky Mountain National Park and run almost entirely on summer demand, with hiring picking up in May. Durango, Salida, and Fruita lean into shoulder-season recreation — rafting, mountain biking, and outfitting — and have a longer working window than the high-altitude resort towns.

Colorado's housing crunch is well-documented; most resorts run their own worker housing, and many towns have nonprofit and municipal programs to help. Apply for housing the same week you apply for the job.
